Map Names Revealed

Stimulus Package; Map names revealed

[UPDATED] Another leak(?) by Xbox.com, this time revealing the names and a short description of the Stimulus Package maps.

After many months of waiting and various rumours circulating around the internet, it seems that we may now have the information we've been waiting for. A leak on the official Xbox site has revealed the names and descriptions of each map within the Map Pack.

Stimulus Package

The first Modern Warfare 2 Map Pack, titled the "Stimulus Package", will be released 30th March on Xbox 360 and will then eventually arrive on PS3 and PC 30 days later. The Map Pack will include 3 brand new multiplayer maps as well as 2 fan-favourites from Call of Duty 4:Modern Warfare.

"Bailout", a multi-level apartment complex;
"Storm", an open industrial park littered with heavy machinery;
"Salvage", a snowy junkyard fortified by stacked debris and crushed cars;
"Crash", a war-torn urban environment;
"Overgrown", which features a massive dry creek bed.

So it seems that the infamous leaked video » that has made the rounds on the internet is indeed legit. It also appears that the maps titled Complex has changed to Bailout, and Compact has been changed to Salvage.

We also expect the "Stimulus Package" to feature new challenges and callsigns for you to unlock, as suggested by Infinity Ward Community Manager, @fourzerotwo », after a lead meeting in January.

A "reliable-source" has informed our friends over at WePlayCoD » that the Map Pack will cost 1200 Microsoft Points, however this is not yet official.

@fourzerotwo » has hinted that Double XP will be switched on during the Map Pack launch. You will also be able to dress up for the occassion, as a variety of new content » will hit Xbox LIVE during the launch week, including avatar items, a premium theme and gamerpics. There will also be a gamerpic pack dedicated to the moustache maestro himself - Captain Price!

So what do you think? Are you excited? Head over to our forums » and let us know your thoughts. Be sure to stay tuned to ModernWarfare247.com as we will continue to provide coverage of the downloadable content and the "Stimulus Package" trailer coming soon!

[UPDATE] We promised a little update, so here you go!

The Stimulus Package will be sold for 1200MS (Microsoft Points), which is $14.99 USD.

Maps

  • Bailout; An overrun "modern" apartment complex with really long sidelines. It's a wide map with a lot of great flanking positions. Parking lots and courtyards connect it all
  • Salvage; An old abandoned snowy junkyard with piles of trash, debree, vehicles and warehouses. It's really fast, being one of the smallest maps in the map pack, great for FFA and smaller type team based games.
  • Storm; It's in the middle of a rainy downpour and an intense thunderstorm that's rolling in with some other weather effects. It has all these abandoned warehouses that have been turned into outposts for military units. It's a medium-large sized map which is great for any objective type of game.
  • Crash/Overgrown; Upped the graphics, added some new stuff that you see all across MW2.

Salvage is a map that is made after listening to the community. It's a map for the non-camping type of gamer. You're either in the fight or you're about to, not much time so sit around and camp since it's such a fast paced map.

The DLC will also be accompanied with a small playlist update:

  • HC HQ pro will be updated with new maps in this playlist. Maps like Invasion, Skidrow, Highrise and Terminal will be added to this list.
  • HC Moshpit will also be added in this small update.
