Many gamers hated Treyarch (developer of Call of Duty 3 and World at War) for putting vehicles into multiplayer, amongst other things. Infinity Ward (developer Modern Warfare 2) though, is known for their great ability to really balance multiplayer gameplay and promises doing that in it's sequel on Modern Warfare too.

When Hyper Gaming magazine asks about the snowmobiles in Modern Warfare Vince Zampella confirms there will be no vehicles in multiplayer:

"Everyone asks us this" sighs Zampella, "so I'll say it: no vehicles in multiplayer!"

This should make many gamers very (more like: VERY) happy. You should be warned though, there will be a snowmobile race in the co-op enabled Special Ops like you could have read earlier in our news article Water-based fight confirmed »

Further more, nothing we didn't really already know but it sums up a couple of key improvements for Modern Warfare 2:

"We've also taken the render out and revamped it, so we have a lot higher detail and resolution in the lighting as well as the shadows. Something else we added is detailed textures to the characters' clothing, hair and faces. We also re-did the way we do all our in-game models - for instance, the few weapons we brought over from the first game had to be redone from scratch, because everything's so much higher-res now and they really would have stood out as not looking as good in the new game otherwise."

It's a good thing they fully redid the few weapons they brought over, the only thing we're afraid for is that three letter word "few" in that sentence... Let's just assume the old weapons that haven't been redone have good replacements!
