Wii set to fail?

For Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare to become the best first person shooter for the Wii there is still lots to be done.

GamesCom 2009 has been slow for the Nintendo Wii but Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was playable which should turn some heads. And it did, only into the wrong way... Up until now the graphics lack and word is getting around the net that it looks worse than it's predecessor Call of Duty: War at World by the same developer. Though there is still time for Treyarch to work on it as it ships on November 10th 2009, chances are that a lot of people will be disappointed by this title.

Luckily we can also tell you some good news. All the game modes, perks and challenges seen in the original Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare on the consoles, PC and Mac are implemented in this slimmed down version for the Nintendo Wii. Treyarch promises only a minor player cut in multiplayer, bringing it to a total of 10 players, to keep things running smooth and without online hick-ups. But, and here it comes, without Wii Speak... That's right, you will not be able to speak to your teammates while you're enjoying a tactical game online. IGN asked for user input in their article to find out if this would be considered a deal breaker. At the moment of writing, a shocking 45% (of those considering to buy) would leave it untouched if it will not support Wii Speak. But every cloud has a silver lining, can you imagine a game without having to listen to some foul-mouthed ten year old? It would most certainly be a welcome gift if you ask me ;)

We hope things will not be as bad as it looks right now and the Game of the Year 2008 get the port it deserves. We will keep you informed...
