LIVE, T. Tactical, IW Troubles

Free Xbox LIVE, Team Tactical and IW troubles

Quite cryptic right? Well jump inside to read three news articles that might interest you.

Yesterday we held a giveaway for the Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Package and we received a great response. Within a few hours we had over 50 entries on our forums and about 40 entries via Twitter, but sadly we could only pick 3 winners... The 3 lucky winners that our random generator chose were blainekid, Commandant Max and @KlitchS. We would like to congratulate the winners and to those that didn't win, better luck next time!

1 Week Free Xbox LIVE

The Stimulus Package launch day on Xbox 360 was full of problems. The DLC didn't work without the title update and public matchmaking was broken, but it seems that Microsoft are now offering their sincere apologies with a freebie! If you signed in to Xbox LIVE then you will have noticed that you've received a message from the LIVE team stating that anyone who bought the Stimulus Package on day 1 will receive a free 1 week Xbox LIVE gold extension to their current membership on May 1st.

Bye Double XP, Helloooo Team Tactical

Sadly Double XP is no longer in any of Modern Warfare 2's playlists but this also brings along something new. One of our personal favorite playlist from Call of Duty 4 has been added. That's right, first person Team Tactical has now been added to Modern Warfare 2! Team Tactical is a 4 vs 4 playlist that features mixed game modes, similar to Mosh Pit but with less players.

More Infinity Ward Members Depart

After the departures of Jason West and Vince Zampella last month comes even more departures. Lead software engineer Francesco Gigliotti and the Multiplayer lead Todd Alderman have both left the studio. They have both worked at the studio for 7 and 8 years and have been key in the Multiplayer and single player aspects of Infinity Ward's games. Only time will tell if more staff decide to departure from the company, however it is believe that they would lose their rights to unpaid royalties.
