GAME for Good & Javelin Glitch

War Child Charity and Javelin Glitch

[UPDATED] Javelin glitch much? Plus, this weekend you can help raise money for 'War Child' with GAME for Good in the UK!

Glitches

Almost a month since Modern Warfare 2 was released and many glitches have already surfaced across the game.

Javelin

One of the most noticeable glitches that has been discovered, labeled as 'the Javelin Glitch', is soon to be patched. This glitch allows players to set off a Javelin or other launchers automatically upon being killed, causing death to surrounding enemies. Luckily a patch is in the works and will soon face certification from Microsoft and Sony. It will also go LIVE on PC as soon as testing is complete and successful.

"#MW2 Javelin Glitch fix currently in test. Once it's cleared, we'll be urging it through Microsoft & Sony certification as fast as possible."

"@Police_2010 Yeah. The PC will get the same update, but doesn't require certification so it should be getting an update once testing is done"

This may seem a pretty cool and fun glitch but I should warn you that you may face the wrath of the Xbox LIVE ban-hammer if you do it. @Stepto, Director of Policy and Enforcement for Xbox LIVE, has stated that if your caught doing this glitch then you face being banned. The ban could last for 24 hours up to 2 weeks depending on how many times you repeat the glitch.

"For those asking, it's not new that we issue suspensions for cheating/glitching, and we do it for more then just MW2. :>"

"For those asking, cheating suspensions are usually 24 hours for first offense. But egregious cheating can be 2 weeks!"

For other possible glitches and problems within the game stay tuned for the first major Title Update coming soon.

"@Hatin_My_Bapes First title update will be a big one. We've been taking notes since release and working. I'll post details before it ships"

It's still not clear whether the Javelin glitch patch will too be a part of the first Title Update or whether it will be it's own patch. We're not fans at all, but if you want to have some fun with it (in private matches of course!), you can view the video tutorial by WhatEverHD on Youtube here » Again, please be a sport and don't do this in ranked matches!

[UPDATE] More information on the coming patches for both consoles and PC:

Source: @fourzerotwo

"Heads up. #MW2 on PS3 just got update 1.05 which includes some improvements to matchmaking. Patch 1.06 is still coming down the pipeline."

"@JakeKelly PC Has the javelin update already and is constantly getting matchmaking tweaks. Feel free to send along any specific questions."

"@SynGamer nope. 1.06 that is still in the pipeline of certification will fix javelin, care packages, and places you can get into geo."

"#MW2 PS3 update 1.06 is the javelin fix, care package glitch fix, and addresses areas where players could get into geo. Like rocks on Afghan"

"@JakeKelly New PC hacks are constantly being added to the VAC list for banning / fixes. Still haven't heard plans to add dedicated servers"

"For those playing #MW2 on Xbox 360. The same fixes that are in 1.06 are coming to you, it's currently in Microsoft cert. Out of my hands."

GAME For Good

There will be a GAME For Good event this weekend on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th December. All you UK players out there have to do is play Modern Warfare 2 on Xbox LIVE during this time and you'll be raising money for the 'War Child' charity. Based on UK Xbox LIVE player stats, the more UK gamers that play means the more money than Activision donates to the charity.

Thanks Boyle111 for helping out MW24/7!

Modern Warfare 24/7 updates?!

We get lots of emails asking what happened to this website. The frontpage isn't updated as much as we would all like it to be, this is all due to some (deserved?) time off, playing the game and real life situations. It's good to see we still have many loyal visitors each day as we're still within the top 4,000 sites in the US (acoording to Alexa.com »). THANKS everyone, I still have so much fun working with this great community, on our forums and everyone all around the net and I will not stop working on the site for months/years to come - I promise! Even started working a nice little MW2 project that might interest you, it will be announced soon.

For those that don't follow me on twitter (@Neejoh »), the last couple of days I've been updating the » Special Ops pages. No where near done (10 of 23), but it will be soon!

Again, thanks for all your concerns and keep » submitting news if you see anything worth writing about!
