BAFTA Game Award Winner

Congratulations Infinity Ward for winning the BAFTA GAME Award 2009! Also, we've added 2 new wallpapers...

The BAFTA GAME Awards were hosted in London last night and presented awards to a host of 2009's greatest games. Modern Warfare 2 was of course one of the receivers, winning one award.

Modern Warfare 2 won the The GAME Award 2009 which is an excellent achievement considering that this is the only award that we, the gamers, voted for. Due to Modern Warfare 2 winning the award, those who are yet to experience the game can currently buy it from GAME » for £5 less than the usual price.

There was quite a lot of speculation before and during the ceremony, mostly concerning the crisis between Infinity Ward and Activision in the past month. The most popular question that people were wanting to know was who will pick up the award for Infinity Ward if Modern Warfare 2 was to win anything. It appears that Vince Zampella was scheduled to attend the event according to Infinity Ward animator Chance Glasco ». However due to the recent trouble between Infinity Ward and Activision and Vince no longing working at IW, the Activision UK Marketing Chief picked the award up for them.

It is also believed that Activision representatives at the show were under strict instructions not to give any Modern Warfare 2 interviews according to Radio 1 presenter and Eurogamer writer Johnny Minkley ».
