Bans on Infinity Ward forums[UPDATED 17th] BEWARE! Users have been banned on the official Infinity Ward forums for linking to mw24/7 (and others)! Be warned! We do not know the exact reason for it but we have been contacted by users of the Infinity Ward forums that have been banned after posting a direct link to external websites (us, in this case). It is considered spam/advertisement and you will be banned for a week, or in extreme cases your account will be removed completely without extra warning. Read the rules on their forum and live by it, okay? Understand, this is only a heads up and we don't want any part in this chapter of moderation on the official Infinity Ward forums. It is their policy and by posting there you agreed to their rules. Contact us if you deem necessary. [UPDATE] After a little chat with v Sim Co, Community Moderator at the Infinity Ward Forums, we thought it would be time for a little update. When we first got notice of users being banned for posting links to our site we didn't know what to think... But now we know it's not all that bad. When you have such an active community on such a small place of the Internet some users tend to ruin things for other users by the lack of ability to make sensible decisions and actions. So, why are users getting banned for posting a link to our (and other) websites? It's pretty simple when you think about it. The Infinity Ward forums is a role model community on which sub communities like ours is based of. When news is posted on these forums it is often mistaken for "official" information. This is the way all those HOAXes will hit the internet. Do's and Dont's at the Infinity Ward forums Do not add a topic or post with "this site is awesome" (considered advertising) Do follow the rules/guidelines set up by the crew, please read the here We hope to have clarified it a little better. Just read the rules, use common sense and you'll be fine. When banned, just sit it out for a little while and learn from your mistake. Don't make a new account to say sorry, this will only make things worse. Our own forums do not have such strict guidelines (yet), but we expect every user to have read our rules and live by those too! |
