Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer Maps; Highrise

Highrise is a multi-players map on Modern Warfare 2 its setting is in New York city, its location is on top of a skyscraper which is under-construction there are two office blocks on the west and eastern sides of the map. These offices are the spawn points for both teams and there is a lot of cover inside the offices making it easy for the opposing team to flank and stay inside the enemy spawn and unfortunately "spawn-camp" them. Search and Destroy can be a pain on this map because you can get "spawn" sniped quite easily, however after this it becomes a fast-paced game with plenty of excitement. Directly in the middle of the map is a Helicopter-pad, if a sentry-gun is placed on top of here it can watch either of the office blocks and anyone who comes out of the spawn will die...

Assault rifles are a must on this map because it's mostly medium to long range combat this is because of the large corridor inside the offices and also the long alley ways in the main map complex. On the western side of the map is a scaffolding site, this can be climbed onto and makes a perfect vantage point for snipers as it watches all of the map.

There is also a large tunnel complex that link both of the enemy bases together, this means on Search and Destroy games it's easy to get into the enemy base and attack their camping snipers. — Captain Hughes

Highrise Map Tricks

It's full of strategic quirks, choke points, and sniping spots if you know where to look for them. Expect average players to hover around the interior sections at opposite sides of the map, and run through the central throughways.

  1. Beams; These suspended beams can (and should) be utilized, though don't run around on them for too long as they offer little cover. What they do offer is a path to the second floor of the northern interior, which is a great place to hunker down and practice your marksmanship. You can leap onto one of the beams from the helipad on the right side of the map.
  2. North Interior; The two opposing interiors offer some extra-personal combat. Stay in a crouch and sneak through the cubicles – anyone who foolishly lets their head stick out above one of the half-walls can easily be fragged to pieces through the thin dividers (watch as papers go everywhere – it's beautiful). Shotguns are particularly effective. And remember to use your environment when the opportunity arises – a large copy machine will explode after being beaten into submission, just like cars.
  3. South Interior; ^ same as ^
  4. Scaffolding; A bit of scaffolding gives you access to a barely perceptible ledge that runs along the side of the building, which is an excellent secret route for carrying flags or bombs in objective matches. Even if the enemy kills you while you're carrying the objective, they'll have a tough time retrieving it from it's perch, giving you and your team the opportunity to catch them while they're distracted.
  5. Passageway; There's a passageway (not visible) which runs across the entire map, from the northern interior to the southern. Here, in the middle, an openeing exposes the passage to the air, making lower-level travelers vulnerable for a second. This isn't the most secretive route – everyone knows it's there – but if you're lucky, you'll make it to the other side and pop up behind the opposing team without tipping anyone off. Slughther time!
  6. Parkour Opp; There's a piece of scaffolding hanging about 10 feet from the edge of the building here. If you enjoy a little parkour, and don't mind dying a few (or several) times, you can leap from the building, grap onto the scaffolding by pressing the Jump/Action button, climb it like a ladder, shimmy across a sliver of a ledge, walk up another piece of scaffolding, and reach the roff of the southern interior – the highest pooint on the map. You might find a little surprise up there...
